As an influencer, brand partnerships are the best place to start with monetizing your brand. It is the easiest place to start because you work with brands with a small following and still get paid for it. I recommend that influencers have a pitching strategy in place when reaching out to brands, which is something I teach my students that I work with because it is important to keep in mind what brands look for in influencers so that you can ensure you check off all those boxes.
I’m going to share with you the top three things campaign managers look for in influencers when scouting them for an upcoming campaign.
This is the number one! Is this influencer’s brand AND content relevant to the brand campaign? They look at this for a number reasons:
What connection the influencer has with their audience?
Really evaluating and getting down to the numbers, what does the influencer’s following, number of views, and impressions look like?
Notice how follower count is last…this is truly the last thing we look at in consideration. This should be more confirmation that the number of your following doesn’t not matter.
Overall, as an influencer it’s important to know what brands look for so that you can ensure you check off the boxes to be considered potential collaborations. This rule applies for when you’re pitching and for when brands are pitching to you. Take a minute to ensure your brand checks off these boxes.
